The very first One World
Osborne, you were our first One World. In the middle of the summer 2020 we had the idea of teaching English and connecting children around the globe by using technology and bringing a moment of joy. Our deep gratitude for your participation in this activity. We made a list of some interesting questions so you can share your experience with the families part of our community.

Tell us, what was your family experience during the Confetti's One World session summer 2020?
It was a very good experience especially to have the kids interact in real time regardless of the distance. it was at time when COVID has put us all at home and kids missed having interactions with other children

What did your kids like the most about the One World session?
English is a second and official language in Malawi, usually seen as most common language out there, for them it was a learning to note that they are not alone that have English as second language

What is the most significant thing that your children remember about the One World?
The exchange on favorite things, the food, the colors

Tell us your opinion about multicultural experiences and learning a new language
Learning a new language can be challenging but it's also an opportunity to learn about other people's way of life because we learn through expressions of daily lives of the people of that language. It opens your mind to be flexible in that you realise there are different ways and acceptable to do things...and it should be ok to see others do things different from the way you do because that is their way of life and we are different.

How have you helped your children to improve their English at home?
I buy them english books and they have to read different levels for the thier spelling and vocabulary improvement

And last but not least, do you recommend other families to participate in the One World activity?
Yes. It's a very nice experience and should be promoted to other children and families.

Thank you so much Osborne.
